The WASCAL Governing Board, led by the Chairman, Professor Mouhamadou Hassirou, held their meeting for the first time in Abuja, Nigeria and decided to come for a working visit to one of its Graduate Schools in Nigeria, WASCAL CC&HH in Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna, accompanied by a representative of the Federal Ministry of Environment, Abuja, being the WASCAL Focal Ministry in Nigeria.
This working visit coincided with the planned commemoration of the 10th anniversary (2012 – 2022) of WASCAL in FUT Minna. The visit afforded WASCAL in FUT Minna the opportunity to appreciate all stakeholders who had participated in the programme in the following different capacities by awarding them with a Certificate of Participation as:
The FUT Minna based staff (60) collect the certificate(s) in person, as any or more than one of the above stakeholders. Others who were not FUT Minna based joined online but their certificates of Participation were sent to them, over 100 beneficiaries.

A congratulatory message and personalized card were presented by the Chairman of the WASCAL Governing Board to Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta; on his appointment as the 8th substantive Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna.

As part of the 10th-anniversary celebration to keep the environment clean, thirteen (13) Industrial waste bins were unveiled for utilization on campus by the Governing Board. Beneficiaries of the bins were the University’s Senate building, Health Services (UHS) in Gidan Kwano campus, the Students’ Affairs Division and Offices of the Deans in each of the ten including the Postgraduate School.
The Governing Board members visited the WASCAL CCHH in FUT Minna to see the facilities for themselves and interact with students and staff. We could not let our August Visitors leave us without having a taste of Nigerian jollof rice, amongst other typical local meals and were entertained by the Gwape Cultural Troupe before their departure back to Abuja. It was a great day, a unique and huge privilege, enjoyed by WASCAL in FUT Minna.
